Once the new header is added to page two, you can add an abstract of your paper. Often abstracts are not required for particular assignments--always check with your instructor. An abstract is a summary of the content of your paper and the word count typically ranges from 150 to 250 words.
- Type and center “Abstract” on the first line
- Without indenting, type in your abstract beginning on line two.
- Immediately below the abstract, indent and type “Keywords:” in italics.
- Add keywords that describe the content of your paper.
- Hit the enter key until you drop to the third page, or else select the Insert tab and hit Page Break.
