Project Overview:

Citizen Science: National Geographic
Citizen science is the practice of public participation and collaboration in scientific research to increase scientific knowledge. Through citizen science, people share and contribute to data monitoring and collection programs.

Choosing a Project:

SciStarter
SciStarter is an online citizen science hub where more than 3,000 projects, searchable by location, topic, age, level, etc. have been registered.
Zooniverse
The Zooniverse is a platform for people-powered research. To get started, go to the "Projects" page.

Remember, your project must answer 'Yes' to the following questions:

Is the project related to biology?
Do I possess the necessary skills to collect data for the project?
Can the project be completed in my local area or via my internet connection?
Can data for the project be collected this semester?
Is the project still active? Check for specific dates and/or the last update for the project.
